Job Summary

Texas Precious Metals is seeking a highly skilled Security Specialist to protect employees, visitors, and company assets. The Security Specialist provides armed security services, monitors facilities, enforces protocols, and responds tactically to potential threats. This role requires professionalism, sound judgment, and advanced knowledge of firearms safety and security procedures.

Security Specialist Responsibilities

  • Provide armed security to protect employees and company assets
  • Perform secure transports as required
  • Open and close secure facilities according to established protocols
  • Patrol and monitor company premises to deter criminal activity
  • Control facility access for employees, visitors, contractors, and vehicles
  • Monitor surveillance systems and test security equipment
  • Operate X-ray machines and metal detectors as needed
  • Communicate clearly using two-way radios and other devices
  • Detain trespassers or violators following legal protocols
  • React tactically to dangerous situations involving criminal elements
  • Inspect delivery vehicles and oversee secure loading/unloading
  • Prepare detailed incident and daily activity reports
  • Perform CPR or first aid when necessary
  • All other duties as assigned by management

Security Specialist Skills and Competencies

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of security protocols and emergency procedures
  • Ability to safely carry, qualify, and operate a firearm
  • Experience operating surveillance and security systems
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

Security Specialist Qualifications

  • Must have or obtain within 30 days: Texas License to Carry Handgun
  • Must have or obtain within 90 days: Level II and Level III Texas Private Security License
  • Advanced knowledge of firearms safety and tactical response procedures

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a secure facility environment, including exposure to varying weather conditions and active security situations.
